Ricardo Gallén - 24th of November

The concert with Ricardo Gallén will be at Slottskirken on friday the 24th of November at 19.30. Slottskirken is located at the Akerhus fortress in the center of Oslo.

The Oslo Guitar Society is proud to conclude this years International Concert Series with a performance from one of the most exceptional guitar-players in Europe today. Gallén will also be giving a masterclass at the Norwegian State Academy of Music on Saturday 25th of November. Click here for more information about Ricardo Gallén.

Per Skareng - 5th of October

Per Skareng will perform in Svenska Margaretakyrkan thursday 5th of October at 19.30. You will be able to enjoy music by composers Fernando Sor, Fransisco Tarrega, Mauro Giuliani, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Tommie Haglund, Antonio Lauro and Astor Piazzolla. Oslo Guitar Society presents Per Skareng

We are happy to announce a new addition to the Oslo Guitar Society International Concert Series 2006. The Swedish guitarist Per Skareng will perform in concert at Svenska Margaretakyrkan the first week of October. The exact date will be anounced in a short while.

The date for Ricardo Gallens concert in Svenska Margaretakyrkan is set to friday 24th of November 2006. He will also give a masterclass the 25th of November.

A fantastic concert with Lorenzo Micheli

Thanks to all of you that were so fortunate to attend the concert with Lorenzo Micheli in Svenska Margaretakyrkan 11th of March. On February 17, the Oslo Guitar Society fundraiser received attendance enough to support the 2006 International Guitar Series. The all-guitar fundraising event took place at the Svenska Margaretakyrkan and featured solo performances by Sven Lundestad, Randall Avers, Petter Richter and åsmund stener olsen. The evening concluded with the Norwegian guitar duo, Duo Frevo.

The success of this event was vital in supporting the 2006 International Guitar Series, which boasts 3 artists that have won a combined 30 first prizes in international music compeitition. Italian guitarist Lorenzo Micheli will begin the series on March 11, 19:30 followed by Polish guitarist Marcin Dylla on April 21st, 19:30. The Spanish guitarist Ricardo Gallen will appear in the Fall (date to be announced). All events will take place at the intimate Svenska Margaretakyrkan, Hammersborgtorg 8. Seating is limited so get there early.

Special thanks goes to Sven Lundestad and Andreas Karlsen of Duo Frevo who have generously donated their time and talents to the fundraiser. OGS thanks the Norges Musikkhøgskole who will sponsor the masterclasses of Lorenzo Micheli and Marcin Dylla, and once again, those who supported us by attending the concert.

Oslo Guitar Society has received funding from Norsk Kulturråd

Welcome to the new homepage of the Oslo Guitar Society!

During the 2006 season we will present a concert series in Oslo with the exceptionally talented performers Marcin Dylla (Poland), Lorenzo Micheli (Italy) and Ricardo Gallen (Spain).

The Oslo Guitar Society is devoted to presenting classical guitar events in Oslo and its surrounding areas where comparable experiences might not be available. The community outreach concert series provides excellent concerts free to the public.
