DUO HENNING KRAGGERUD / PETTER RICHTER

This violin and guitar duo was formed in 2001 and features two of the best young classical musicians in Norway.

Henning Kraggerud has been described by some newspapers as the David Beckham of the classical music world, and he has in recent years made a name for himself as one of the most interesting violin players in Europe. He performs regularly with the best symphony orchestras around the world, and he has gained a reputation for his variation in expression and intensisty in tone. He has recorded several acclaimed CDs for the Naxos label and been nominamted to the Norwegian Grammy award for the most recent release. Kraggerud also played a key role in the movie about Ole Bull that played in movie theaters in Norway and received excellent reviews.

Petter Richter is one of the leading classical guitar players from the Nordic countries and has acheived awards in several international guitar competitions in recent years. This has led to many concerts in Europe and the Middle East and performances on festivals in Norway and abroad. His performance on the guitar is characterized by sensitivity and great technical precision.

The Kraggerud/Richter duo performs music from all eras and regions of the world with lively and intense interpretations. Their repertoire is a mixture of compositions originally written for violin and guitar and arrangements. They also project a sensation of less formality in their presentation of classical music. The Duo has performed all over Norway, always with excellent reviews. They have also performed many concert series in cooperation with Rikskonsertene with performances of classical music for children in school concerts.
